Applications Now Open for the 2025 Justice Janie L. Shores Scholarship

February 18, 2025 – (MONTGOMERY, Ala.) – The Alabama Law Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2025 Justice Janie L. Shores Scholarship. This prestigious scholarship is awarded annually to one or more female Alabama residents who are pursuing a law degree at an Alabama law school.

Established by the Women’s Section of the Alabama State Bar, the Justice Janie L. Shores Scholarship honors the legacy of Justice Shores, the first female Alabama Supreme Court Justice. The scholarship supports aspiring female attorneys as they work toward becoming future leaders in the legal profession.

The application portal is now open and will remain available until midnight CST on April 6, 2025. Eligible applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

The Alabama Law Foundation administers three law school scholarship funds, the Cabaniss Johnston Scholarship, the Justice Janie L. Shores Scholarship, and the W. Verbon Black Scholarship. These scholarships provide critical financial support to the next generation of Alabama lawyers.
